Archaeology and heritage

An assessment of the archaeological and heritage local to the site will be undertaken, including setting assessment. An initial review of designated heritage assets has not identified any that are likely to be impacted by development of the site. This will be reviewed further in the setting assessment.

The site is located immediately south of The Bourne Pool Archaeological Priority Area, which includes remains dating from the early prehistoric to the post-medieval period. No remains of archaeological interest are currently identified within the site, however this will be reviewed further in the desk-based assessment. Discussions with the Local Planning Authority’s archaeologist will be held to agree an appropriate scope of any more detailed evaluative works as the planning application moves forward.
